Issued: Oct 1857. Printed typography and embossed on white or yellow paper, with horizontal orange silk thread and imperforate.
The paper is white or yellowish; the latter being due to the adhesive used in part of the printing.
Reprint May 1865: Paper with horizontal red silk (Bavarian). Michel 8 reprints also with horizontal, yellow (Switzerland) silk thread. The reprints do not differ from the originals! Surprisingly they could be purchased at the respective face value at the post office counter in Stuttgart and used for franking!
